This Privacy Policy describes how [Mark Edrian Talavera] ("we", "us") collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use the Orient1 Android application (the "App"). The App is an educational tool designed for campus orientation and learning activities, which may include lessons, a quiz module, augmented reality (AR) scenes, and a campus map with optional GPS-based navigation.
Information We Collect
We designed the App to work primarily offline. We do not collect personal information unless you provide it or enable features that require it.
- Camera Data (Required for AR): The App accesses your device camera to render AR content. Camera input is processed in real time on your device and is not stored or transmitted by us.
- Location Data (Optional): If you enable location permissions, the App may access approximate or precise location to show your position on the campus map and provide navigation. Location data is used in-session and not stored or sent to our servers.
- Quiz/Progress Data: The app does not store your quiz answers. They are only displayed once you complete a quiz.

How We Use Information
- Provide and operate App features (lessons, quizzes, AR scenes, and navigation).
- Improve stability and performance based on anonymized diagnostics you choose to share.
- Respond to your support requests.
Data Storage & Retention
- On-Device: The app does not permanently store quiz answers or progress. Information is only shown temporarily during use and is cleared once you exit or complete the activity.
- Server Storage: We do not maintain cloud servers for this App. If you email us logs or feedback, those messages are stored by our email provider according to their policies.
Third-Party Services
The App may include third‑party SDKs strictly to enable AR features (e.g., ARCore) or standard Android components. We do not serve ads and do not use analytics that track you across apps.
- AR SDKs (e.g., Google ARCore): Used to process device sensors and camera frames for AR. See the respective provider’s privacy policy for details.
Your Choices & Controls
- You can deny or revoke permissions at any time in Settings → Apps → Orient1 → Permissions. Some features may not function without the relevant permission.
- You can delete local data by clearing the App’s storage or uninstalling the App.
Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information processed by the App. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we aim to minimize collection and keep data on-device whenever possible.
Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information you provide to us. Because we do not maintain cloud accounts or profiles, most actions can be performed directly on your device (e.g., uninstall to delete local data). You can also contact us for assistance.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect operational or legal changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the revised policy.
